Why did we start J.S.A.?
JSA is designed to prepare middle school baseball players for high school BASEBALL
Our Academy is structured to prepare middle school players for the next level. We provide an educational platform based on many years of experience and knowledge. We teach all aspects of the game and not just mechanics, but mentality as well.
We practice twice a week on a local varsity field and play weekend games. Rosters are designed to offer ample playing time to each of our academy members. Our entire structure is laid out to develop our players.
DeFENSIVE INSTRUCTION
We understand that a big part of developing a well rounded baseball player is consistent defensive training. Our drills and standards mirror what we teach high school players. Proper throwing and catching technique is in our daily teachings. The importance of that can not be measured and each practice begins with purpose catch and our players being taught proper mechanics.
OFFENSIVE INSTRUCTION
The transition from swinging little league bats to high school standard BBCOR bats is often a difficult one. We encourage our 7h graders to swing drop 5 bats and our 8th graders to swing drop 3 bats. This eases the difficult transition into high school baseball. It also gives our 8th graders an extra year of swinging BBCOR drop 3 bats leading into their freshmen season.
Physical & Mind training
Our program is designed to fully prepare middle school players for playing baseball at the next level. The core reason we decided to launch our academy is the desire and drive we have to teach and develop young players. We saw a great need to prepare and teach our members for their next phase of baseball.

MISSION STATEMENT
JSA is a developmental youth baseball program in the South Torrance Community. Our goal is to develop young athletes in the game of baseball, while helping them transition from little league/pony baseball to the high school level. Our coaches will work to create an environment which promotes learning and fosters personal growth. Through practice, game play, and physical training, our coaches will work to improve the players fundamentals, baseball knowledge and physical fitness. We are dedicated to instilling values that will contribute to a player’s success both on the field, and in life.
